Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in Württemberg, Germany. He attended elementary school at Luitpold Gymnasium in Munich. Albert felt isolated from his school, and soon decided to drop out. He applied to the prestigous Swiss Federal Polytechnic School and was accepted on the grounds that he finish primary school. At 16, he wrote his first research paper on "The Investigation of the State of Aether in Magnetic Fields." Through this, he gained interest in relative motion, an idea that will follow him throughout his life.
