Because Einstein was a successful Jewish-born physicist, he because a prime target for Nazi propaganda. The Nazi party began to hire other physicist to denouce Einstein's work, and Einstein was also being antagonized by Nazi Germany who wished to kill him. Sensing for his own personal safety, Einstein decided to travel to America and take a position at the Instuitute of Advanced Studies in Princeton, New Jersey. Here, Albert Einstein developed his unified field theory, and also alerted the U.S. government that Nazi Germany had the resources to create their own atomic weapons, and that the U.S. should consider creting their own nucleur weaponry. Einstein continued to give physics lectures to many universities worldwide. He aquired many prestigious honors such as the Copley Medal of the Royal Society of London in 1925, and the Franklin Medal of the Franklin Institute in 1935. On April 17, 1955, Einstein suffered an abdominal aneurysm and was rushed to the Princeton University Medical Center. He refused surgery, accepting his fate, and died shortly the next day. Thus, his legacy begins.
